Queen Bee winners past & present

Welcome to the Throne room, below you can find out about the contestants who won the audience vote & claimed the Queen Bee Crown since we started the event in 2015.

2015 - BROOKE

BROOKE is the Drag persona of Lukas Myers.

At our first ever competition in November 2015, Brooke set the bar with a performance that incorporated comedy, mime & flamboyance!

Brooke went on to perform at Leeds Pride 2016 as the first ever Queen Bee winner and enjoyed a long & successful tenure at The Viaduct Showbar performing weekly with the rest of the cast and touring various Pride events in the UK & overseas.

Lukas has partly retired Brooke from the limelight in recent years, focusing on his daytime job as an extremely talented make up artist. However Brooke returned to Queen Bee in 2018 and sat on the judging panel.

2016 - BOO GATTI

BOO GATTI is the Drag creation of Ryan Nash.

In 2016, Boo applied to Queen Bee and after successfully securing a performance place traveled all the way from Bristol to take part.

It was not a wasted journey as Boo brought the house down with a fascinating performance that incorporated her brilliant dancing skills & creativity whilst executing more death drops than we could even count all spliced together with the electric sound of Tatianna - See Me with them hands.

Boo took the 2016 Queen Bee Crown with a runaway victory and fell in love with the City of Leeds, so much so that she relocated here from Bristol.

Since her 2016 win, Boo has worked the circuit and private events, performed at Leeds Pride and also featured weekly at Tunnel Night Clubs WERK Drag Queen Line up.

Boo has become a real ambassador for Queen Bee returning each year to perform or host the green room and promotes awareness about people suffering mental health crisis - taking part in the BBC Documentary Inside out in 2017 which featured some of the faces of the Yorkshire LGBT* community and the work Queen Bee does.

2017 - THE WITCH BLAIR

THE WITCH BLAIR is the Drag persona of Blair Greenwood-Reeves.

It was only a matter of time before a young Drag Queen came along to prove that there are rising stars in the Drag field that can use a microphone to command an audience and connect with them through comedy.

New to the area, The Witch Blair applied to Queen Bee to help establish her name and was a refreshing addition to the 2017 line up.

Delivering a touch of darkness, observational and side splitting comedy with a Disney parody thrown in for good measure, The Witch Blair claimed the Queen Bee 2017 Crown.

After performing at Leeds Pride 2018, She continues to work at various venues and host events as well as promote The Queen Bee cause. The Witch Blair has also performed at The Annual LGBT* Awards “The Owlies” here in Leeds and in 2019 will co-host the awards night.

2018 - ECHO

2018 - ECHO

ECHO is the Drag creation of Nathan Kay.

It was her second attempt at the Queen Bee Crown and she absolutely smashed it with a performance that had the whole audience on their feet!

By day Nathan is Cabin Crew for the UK’s second largest leisure airline but by night, Echo comes out to play. Combining a winning comedy formula and taking inspiration from Cabin Crew comedy act Pam Ann, Echo filled the room with laughter with a hilarious flight safety demonstration & the famous Pam Ann trolley service before transforming to deliver Britney Spears realness and dancing her way to the win to the sound of Toxic.

ECHO will perform at Leeds Pride 2019 as is tradition for Queen Bee winners, with an audience of 30,000+ expected. She will also be involved in Queen Bee 2019 on December 2nd.
